YABATECH Declares December 1 as Public Holiday After ASUP Suspends Strike

After the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), has suspended 15-day-Old Nationwide strike by its members effectively from Wednesday, November 28, 2017, YABATECH declared tomorrow, December 1, public holiday to mark this year's Maulud Nabiyy Day.

ASUP Suspends Nationwide Strike

The Academic Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has suspended its 15-day-old nationwide strike on Wednesday during the union’s 14th National Delegates Conference at the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi State.

National President of ASUP, Mr. Usman Dutse, told a press conference that the decision to suspend the strike was reached after the agreement of both parties, the leadership of the union and the Federal Government, to a Memorandum of settlement and Action (Mos) on issues raised by the union.
